Why did I become an Artist? Hell if I know???

I started off young as an artist. I made what could possibly have been a masterpiece in my diapers. LOL :D
With all jokes aside. I loved drawing and painting from early on. I drew wherever I could. My passion grew and grew and my desire to work for Marvel or DC Comics was a dream of mine.
Down the road life happened. Got married, had kids (1st was born 3 weeks after the wedding ;) ). I had to find alternative employment to provide and without having a solid education other than my art skills (which I hadn't completed school for) that would get me into a position that would cover my financial need for my family, everything went on hold.
I worked every job imaginable from clothing retail to construction to mechanic. But deep down art was always at my core and in my blood. Sure life threw me more curve balls. I got divorced and was left to raise 3 kids on my own. Lost custody of my kids to my parents (thank God not to my ex wife) and my fiance (whom I met a year after my divorce and was with for 6 years) past away from illness. So yeah lots of curve balls.
Life wasn't kind to me but it knew I could handle it. I continued on my art which was touch and go for 15+ years until my late fiance found what was hiding deep inside. I then found my hidden ability of writing. That was where I started writing my graphic novel. Like James O'Barr who created the character and series The Crow to deal with his grief, so did I with my writing.
So that is a little about myself as quick as I could. My overall intent with this blog is to reassure all of you reading this that there will be setbacks in life and poor choices that may or may not be in our control. In the end, it's how we move forward from there. Don't beat yourselves up when life throws a curve ball at your noodle. Dust yourselves off, hold your head up high and keep pushing to your goals and dreams.
With all that having been said. Till next time.
Oh and like my motto says..... Don't worry, I got this!!!
